About Your Shakopee MN Home Inspector
A Shakopee home inspector you can trust
Home Inspection Shakopee MN was founded to give buyers, sellers, and real estate agents across the south metro a home inspector they can rely on — someone who actually gets on the roof, into the attic, and down in the crawlspace on every inspection. With more than ten years of experience as a Master Certified InterNACHI Member, we follow the InterNACHI Standards of Practice on every job. Why we started this business
Our inspector grew up working on houses — framing side jobs through high school, then a stretch in residential remodeling and trades work before turning to inspection full-time around 2015. The trigger was watching friends and family buy homes with expensive hidden defects that a rushed, checklist-style inspector had missed. The promise of this company has been the same from day one: one inspector on every job, every system touched, and a report written in plain English the same night.
We're based in Shakopee and live in the same neighborhoods we inspect. That proximity matters — we know which 1980s subdivisions used polybutylene supply lines, which lakeshore areas around Prior Lake have seasonal high-water-table issues, and which Scott County zip codes test hottest for radon. Local knowledge isn't a marketing line here; it's how we work.
Standards of practice
Every inspection follows the InterNACHI Residential Standards of Practice. That means we systematically inspect the roof, exterior, foundation and structure, basement and crawlspace, attic, insulation and ventilation, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, interior, and built-in appliances — 12 major systems and more than 75 sub-components in total.
What your 24-hour report looks like
Reports are delivered in under 24 hours via a modern online portal and as a PDF you can email to your agent or lender. Each report is 50–80 pages, with full-color photos, embedded video where it matters, and a clear summary of safety issues, major defects, and deferred maintenance. FLIR thermal imaging is available as an add-on if you'd like that level of detail in your report.
Optional buy-back guarantee
An optional buy-back guarantee is available — ask for details when you book your inspection. Coverage terms and pricing are confirmed at the time of booking.

Why south-metro buyers choose us
- Local knowledge. Shakopee, Prior Lake, and Savage have very different housing stock — from 1980s walkouts on Prior Lake to newer builds in Shakopee's Whispering Creek and Valley View neighborhoods. We know what to look for in each.
- You're there with us. We walk the property with you at the end of every inspection, pointing out the issues in person before the report arrives.
- Reports in 24 hours. Most inspectors take 48–72. In a fast-moving market, that extra day matters.
- No upsells at the door. Radon, sewer scope, mold, and thermal imaging are priced up front on our website. No surprises.
